Japan and China signed a treaty in 1872, allowing many Chinese nationals to settle in three major ports in Japan. The use of pork or chicken bones to prepare broth for noodles was brought in by the settlers and it gave birth to the Japanese ramen we love today. Japanese added their own elements to the noodles and created world-famous ramen with regional variations and flavours. This restaurant recently opened its doors in Richmond. It is packed with customers wanting to try their seared chashiu ramen and less common chicken broth.
